"Strivectin-SD is much less expensive than surgery, but it's not cheap. Finally, for maxium efficacy, StriVectin-SD must be applied three times a day, every day for 4-6 weeks....StriVectin-SD works, but you have to use it. So unless you're committed to getting rid of stretch marks, don't waste your time, your energy, or your money."
After months of thinking about an incredibly large skin care purchase, I splurged and purchased the StriVectin-SD cream. If you have ever gained and lost weight or have been pregnant, then you know that you can get stretch marks and they never seem to go away. How do you heal your skin so they literally disappear? Well, to start with, you need a cream that will produce dramatic results in a short amount of time. Especially as Summer is approaching.
I gave this cream a one-month trial. You need very little because this cream is very concentrated. It seems to increase the skin's thickness and firmness, therefore making the depths of indented surfaces much less apparent.
Results you should see in 4-6 weeks:
Decrease in the actual length of the stretch mark
Decrease in the depth of the indented surfaces
Increase in skin smoothness, thickness and firmness
What is actually occurring?
The cream stimulates glycosaminoglycan and collagen synthesis. It will also correct irregularities in skin coloration. The Peptide solution helps to thicken the skin.
How often did I apply this?
Just one to two times a day. At first I tried to apply the cream three times a day, but found it was easier to remember to put this cream on after a shower and/or before bed. It seems to work very well with only two applications a day.
You may also find yourself using this on your face or on areas where you want to see a decrease in wrinkles.
Not for use by pregnant or nursing women. Consult with your dermatologist before using this product. Do ask your doctor if this product is right for you and start using it as soon as possible after pregnancy/nursing. You will be amazed at the results after 1 month. My main reason for using this product was due to weight gain and monthly weight gain. It seems to have been very effective and I will continue using the product over the long term for maintenance.
The ingredient list is long (a proprietary combination of skin firming agents, elasticizers and hydrators) but some of the main ingredients include: Sesame oil, sweet almond oil, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3, Algae Extract, Coneflower Extract, Licorice, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Mango Butter, Peppermint Oil and retinyl Palmitate.
You may also enjoy the Derma E beauty products, especially
the Peptide creams.

| I love this cream! It is expensive (Costco, people...on coupon a few times a year!), but worth every penny. I'm closing in on 30 (I know, I know), but I smoked for 16 years and with a French-Swedish gene pool, I have fair skin and have always been in the sun - so, wrinkles. Not just any wrinkles, but full on all the way from my eyes to the bottom of my cheekbones. I have only been using StriVectin for a few weeks, but I love it! It really moisturizes and you only use a little tiny dab. The first few times I used it, I couldn't break the habit of using a lot of facial moisturizer, and I ended up with enough to cover my face, neck, chest and arms with the amount that I used to use only on my face! It smells mildy medicinal, but I find it very pleasing; it seems relaxing at bedtime but refreshing in the morning. I feel like it's probably cheaper than what I used to get the Olay Regenerist at because I went through a bottle of Regenerist in a month and I have barely noticed a difference in how much is still in my bottle of StriVectin after a few weeks! My mom is actually why I ended up buying this, because she used it for about 6 months and she and lots of ladies from church, as well as myself, noticed how much younger she looked. Radiant, even. She used to break out a lot, and I did too, but I haven't seen any of the cystic acne that we both used to get so frequently (especially during our cycles). Even though it feels slightly greasy, my skin is clear and beautiful, and now that it's allergy season and sunny and windy, my face doesn't feel tight and dry after the morning is over. My face feels comfortable ALL DAY! That right there will keep me coming back. With how little you use, this stuff is actually cheap. Please give it a try! |
An Excellent Moisturizer - But? - "Better Than Botox?" - Uh-Uh

Dreading the thought of any type of invasive procedures, and constantly seeing advertisements that say "Better than Botox?" (with a quote from a Doctor)for StriVectin-SD, and even though it looked to be expensive, I decided to give this product a try. StriVectin is advertised as both an intensive concentrate for Existing Stretch Marks, and as a significant reducer of fine lines, wrinkles, crows' feet and dark under eye circles. My purpose was for the fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles, as stretch marks is probably the one thing my body has not been subjected too. So my review will not deal with that aspect, but I would encourage anyone who has tried it for use as a stretch mark reducer to leave a review or comment on my review so that others interested in that can have an idea of it's effectiveness for that.
So I used this product pretty religiously as directed for 3 months. Applying 3 times a day to my face and throat(okay once in a while, only 2 times a day, as I didn't always have it with me), and the first thing I noticed was it was excellent as a moisturizer. My skin still felt silky smooth and firmer in the morning. After a few weeks, I began to see what I perceived as some improvement around my eyes(dark circles and fine lines), and was really jazzed about that. For the next couple of months, I was really hoping that I would see more dramatic results as time went by("Better then Botox?"). I saw some, and the appearance of the deeper wrinkles were also slightly minimized, but nothing as dramatic as I expected. No one said to me that I looked "10-15 years younger"..or even said anything at all. And I think if I would have had Botox, someone would have remarked on the difference.I did notice some slight improvement in one area I hadn't expected. After I went through menopause, the skin on my throat, became very very dry and left a bit of a "mask" in that area. To me it appeared a little less noticeable.
Would I buy it again?? Yes. As a moisturizer I found it most effective. If I was just rating that aspect I would go 5 stars.I also did see some difference in problem areas. It was mild and didn't casue any redness or other problems to my face. I would probably use this as a replacement for night creams, and using just once a day, this 6 oz. tube should last 8-9 months. It lasted nearly 3 months using mostly 3 times a day. So comparably in that sense , even though the price a first glance is staggering(although it has come down quite a bit since it first came out), that's at least three times as long as the 1-2 oz. jars of a good moisturizer. It is though sold through a few different sellers here and ocassionally I do see it on sale. So check around for best deal(keep shipping deals in mind, some places offer free shipping with qualifying purchases). Here is another site to start with:StriVectin-SD Intensive Concentrate, StriVectin For Existing Stretch Marks (Striae Distensae) 6 oz Cream Or just enter Strivectin into health and personal care search to surf their products.
So overall I'm going with 3 1/2 stars, as I just don't think it lived up to all that it claims.Once again, those who have used this for reducing stretch marks, please leave us your thoughts via a review or a comment.
